The first AP rankings of the 2019 college football season were released on Monday and the Ohio State Buckeyes came in at No. 5 in the preseason poll.
The Buckeyes are the highest ranked Big Ten team in the poll while six other teams in the conference ranked in the Top 25 (No. 7 Michigan, No. 15 Penn State, No. 18 Michigan State, No. 19 Wisconsin, No. 20 Iowa, No. 24 Nebraska).
With the official AP rankings now released, Ohio State officially has five ranked opponents on their 2019 schedule (at No. 24 Nebraska, vs. No. 18 Michigan State, vs. No. 19 Wisconsin, vs. No. 15 Penn State, at No. 7 Michigan).
Only four teams ranked ahead of Ohio State in the preseason AP poll, with reigning national champ Clemson at No. 1, national runner-up Alabama at No. 2, 2018 SEC East champion Georgia at No. 3 and College Football Playoff semifinalist Oklahoma at No. 4.

No. 5 Ohio State will open their 2019 season next Saturday, August 31st at Ohio Stadium against Florida Atlantic. Kickoff is scheduled for Noon ET and the game will be televised on FOX.
