Justin Fields Appears Most Likely To Be Ohio State QB Next Season

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The Justin Fields saga for Ohio State developed in an interesting way on Saturday as current Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins indicated that the Georgia transfer and No. 1 QB of the 2018 recruiting class might be coming to play in Columbus next season.

Haskins said Fields has been in contact with him about the situation at Ohio State and if he plans on sticking around for another year.

“He hit me up earlier. He’s just waiting to see what I do,” Haskins said. “I try to be positive and help as many people as I can. You know, Justin is going through something right now.”

It was first reported a couple weeks ago that the highly-touted quarterback was probably going to transfer out of Georgia because of him having to sit behind current QB Jake Fromm and that Ohio State was one of the top landing spots for Fields.

Within the past couple weeks, it has become more and more clear that Ohio State would most likely be Fields’ ideal school to transfer to, with reports that Ryan Day being the new head coach has influenced Fields to transfer to the Buckeyes.

“He’s like 6-3, 230, rocked up. A freak athlete. But he’s a really good person, too,” Haskins said. “I worked out with him over the summer. You can see how much he wants to learn and how he’s committed himself to being great.”

Although Haskins said Fields is waiting to see whether he decides to stay at Ohio State or enter the NFL Draft and that he hasn’t made up his mind yet, it’s pretty fair for us to say we all know Dwayne Haskins is going to the NFL.

With Oregon QB Justin Herbert returning to school for another season, Dwayne Haskins is now unanimously projected to be the top quarterback taken in the upcoming 2019 NFL Draft with reports of teams wanting to trade up to take him.

With Haskins out at Ohio State and into the NFL, that would clear a path for Fields to make the move up to Columbus and continue this new era of Ohio State quarterback play that Dwayne Haskins has ushered in this football season.

Haskins has until January 15th to declare for the NFL Draft but he is most likely to announce his intentions in the coming days after the Rose Bowl Game.
