Micah Potter Transfers From Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State men’s basketball announced on Monday that junior forward Micah Potter is transferring from the program.

This decision comes just two days before the Buckeyes open the regular season as they will take on Cincinnati this Wednesday on the road.

“We appreciate Micah’s contributions to our program and we wish him the very best moving forward,” said head coach Chris Holtmann.

Potter appeared in 59 games over his two seasons with the Buckeyes and started in just 16 of those games.

Potter averaged 4.1 points and 2.8 rebounds over the course of his tenure at Ohio State.

Potter came to Ohio State under the Thad Matta regime and stuck around after Chris Holtmann took over the program after Matta’s firing.

The reason for Potter’s transfer has not been made public and it has yet to be announced where he will be transferring to.

Potter’s family has released a statement on Micah’s transfer, per Bill Landis of The Athletic:

Ohio State opens their season this Wednesday, November 7th at Cincinnati after beating UNC Pembroke, 81-63 in their exhibition game.
